The Washington Football Team is on the cusp of perennial contention. But in that position, fortune favors those who are aggressive.

The Washington Football Team should head into 2021 with a reasonable chance to repeat as the NFC East champions. But the recent re-signing of Dak Prescott by the Dallas Cowboys helps a painful reality sink in. As incredible as Washington’s Cinderella run in 2020 was, they’re still not where they need to be.

The Washington Football Team’s roster is certainly getting better, but there are still a few glaring holes on both offense and defense, chief among them quarterback. However, as much as Washington needs a quarterback, the odds of a worthwhile one being at pick No. 19 are slim. The chances of trading up, in a league starved for starting quarterbacks, are even slimmer.

But if the Washington Football Team can’t trade up, it doesn’t mean they shouldn’t still be aggressive in seeking out talent at high-value deals. That’s why this full first-round NFL mock draft features both a trade down from No. 19, and a trade back into the first round. What can the Washington Football Team accomplish in a live scenario, if they choose to be aggressive?

Let’s start rolling down the draft board. Along the way, you’ll also see some nuggets from my initial 2021 NFL Draft rankings. Jacksonville is on the clock.
