Good morning, folks! Wednesday sure was eventful, wasn’t it? Let’s recap everything that went down along with the news you need to know ahead of another randomly cold day across Kentucky.

Big changes are on the way

Rumors have been swirling for a couple of weeks now that some potential changes could be coming to Kentucky Men’s Basketball and those were confirmed on Wednesday when news quickly began to break that a coaching switch is on its way.

Is Orlando Antigua coming back to Lexington? Where is Tony Barbee headed? Wait, is Brad Calipari really in consideration for a graduate assistant position?

Lucky for you, we put all of the juicy info inside of one convenient thread. Matt Jones also went on Instagram Live to give his thoughts. Nothing is official yet, but word is beginning to leak out.

THREAD: Are big changes coming to Kentucky Basketball?

UK Volleyball takes on Washington in Final Four

Clear your schedule tonight, no. 2 Kentucky Volleyball will take on the no. 6 Washington Huskies in the NCAA Tournament Final Four with a chance for the ‘Cats to continue to make history. This is already the first Final Four that the program has ever made and it would obviously be the first national title game if they were to win tonight.

It sure won’t be easy though. Washington has given Kentucky fits during the NCAA Tournament in the past and at this point in the postseason, it’s anyone’s match. But at the same time, the Wildcats breezed through the first three opponents, failing to drop a set in any of them. To put it bluntly, Kentucky has been a dominating force thus far and will be the perceived favorites.

KSBar and Grille will be hosting a watch party to cheer on the ladies, so get there in time for the 7 p.m. start. If you plan to watch from home, tune into ESPN. Tyler Thompson gave us a rundown of everything you need to know from Kentucky’s pre-Final Four press conference, which you can read/watch below.

If you need some added confidence in Kentucky’s chances, consider the fact that six Wildcats were honored as AVCA All-Americans on Wednesday, three of them being named First-Team All-Americans: setter Madison Lilley and outside hitters Alli Stumler and Avery Skinner.

Softball earns walk-off win over the Dirty Birds

The no. 12 UK Softball team welcomed the Louisville Cardinals to Lexington on Wednesday night in the annual “Battle of the Bluegrass.” And in true rivalry fashion, it was a close one.

Kentucky did not lead throughout the entire game… until a walk-off sac-fly in extra innings pushed the ‘Cats in front for the first time, leading to a 6-5 victory. Kayla Kowalik extended her hitting streak to 21 games as she led her Kentucky squad to the second win over the in-state Cardinals this season.

Drake Jackson and Landon Young came on KSR

In case you missed it, two of the Big Blue Wall’s founding fathers, Drake Jackson and Landon Young, made a special guest appearance on the radio show Wednesday morning.

They talked memories from Kentucky, showed off the flashy new Gator Bowl ring, and spoke on how the Big Blue Nation made it fun to be an offensive lineman at UK. If you missed the show, don’t fret, the entire 44-minute conversation can be found right here.

Those two will also be at KSBar and Grille on Friday night from 6-8 p.m. signing autographs and hanging out with fans.

Volleyball Final Four watch party on Thursday night then Drake Jackson and Landon Young on Friday night? You might want to go ahead and start making those reservations now…

We’ve got Matt Jones and the crew in an hour. It should be heavy on the coaching staff talk, so listen in to hear what domino could fall first.
