Alabama Governor Kay Ivey, a Republican and self-identified Baptist, has sided with athletes from a Seventh-day Adventist highschool that needed to forfeit a recreation when the state’s highschool sports activities affiliation balked at rescheduling a playoff recreation.

College students from Oakwood Adventist Academy in Huntsville, Alabama, couldn’t play within the Saturday, Feb. 19, recreation as a result of the match began at 4:30 p.m. native time, roughly one hour earlier than sundown, the top of the Sabbath, noticed by Adventists and Jews, amongst different spiritual teams.
