Sewickley Academy girls lacrosse caps storybook season in PIAA semifinals | Trib HSSN

The Sewickley Academy girls lacrosse team had its storybook-type season come to an end June 8 in the semifinals of the PIAA Class 3A tournament, but this year was nothing short of spectacular for the Panthers.

They produced a record of 17-3, took third place in the WPIAL after losing to eventual runner-up Mt. Lebanon in the semifinals, then put together a special run in the state playoffs with a 19-17

Children’s Lifetime Sports Academy celebrates 25 years

The Children’s Lifetime Sports Academy, hosted annually by the Kinesiology department at Missouri Southern State University, celebrated its 25th year by returning to an in-person camp after it had to be held virtually last year due to COVID19.

Last year, they knew by May that the event would have to be held virtually.

Troy Smith, Braxton Miller want to start IMG type prep academy in Ohio

Count this in the bucket of surprises coming during the college football offseason. According to the Springfield News-Sun, former Ohio State quarterbacks Braxton Miller and Troy Smith are interested in starting a prep school similar to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

The site the two are interested in is the Old Urbana University site that was closed in 2020 by Franklin University used it as a satellite school prior to the pandemic hitting. Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy baseball headed to state finals after victory over Barnesville

AKRON, Ohio — The Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy baseball team will play for a state championship Sunday morning.

“It’s unbelievable,” CHCA coach Tony Schulz said. “So proud of our guys. They work so hard for this. All the way back to September it’s been their goal to get to this game and have a chance to compete for a state title and we couldn’t be more thrilled for them.”

Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy defeated Barnesville 7-1 in a Division III state semifinal Friday at Canal Park in Akron.
